Infamous Swedish drag show Diamond Dogs have put together and released a single – celebrating the ten year anniversary of their conception and all of the success they’ve had since.
Fronted by the group’s leading lady Peter Englund, ‘A Dog’s Life’ is a deep house dance track throwing lyrical doubt upon the notion of vanity, fashion, and luxurious excess. And with a corker of a key change shoe-horned in for extra effect.
If you’ve ever been out and about in Stockholm’s gay nightlife, chances are you’ve seen these ladies lip-synch for their lives – most famously to well loved schlager songs, where the original schlager singers have actually even recorded and contributed new spoof lyrics to go with the satirical drag performances. Always a treat!
‘A Dog’s Life’ is their first single on their own though – after guesting on Lili & Susie’s ‘Bailamor‘ last year.
The accompanying video is all kinds of fabulous too. As was to be expected really.
