New single released by a new Norwegian pop outfit yesterday. Two brothers between the ages of 14 and 15. Sondre and Marcus Bringaker. Or 2Boys, as they are now to be known. At least for the duration of this pop career anyway.
‘Scandinavian Girls’ is the wonderfully titled new track from them. A dancepop track for young kids, with a grown up production. Sort of like Jedward’s ‘Luminous’, but not as high brow. But truly catchy, and a whole lot of (good clean) fun with it. Pop music tailored towards tweenage girls (Scandinavian or otherwise) more often than not ends up appealing to us too, and we’ve never been ashamed of that. And ‘Scandinavian Girls’ is no exception. Hooray!
The lyrics are an absolute atrocity of the lowest (dis)order though, unfortunately. And penned by adults, we might add – not by these two innocents. Granted, lyrics have to be toned down for younger popstars, but this is ridiculous! You wouldn’t catch their teen pop neighbour Isac Elliot muttering any of these sentences.
Here’s a preview of the otherwise marvellous pop song in question. It was released yesterday, and is available outside of Norway too.
